What is "Nachal Mitzrayim"? What was its status?

Rashi and Targum Yonasan: "Nachal Mitzrayim" refers to the Nile, 1 which belonged to Egypt, and was situated on the south-western tip of Cana'an, dividing between Egypt and Cana'an - Rashi.
