Why does it say "v'Hu Odenu Na'ar"?

1.

'Rashi': Even though he was a youth, he began to seek Elokei David Aviv. This is like "v'Hu Na'ar? va'Yave Dibasam Ra'ah El Avihem" (Bereishis 37:2) ? that is not astounding (since he was a youth). Had Yosef been 30 years old, he would not have done so. Here it is astounding that a youth began to seek?

2)

When did he begin to purify Yehudah and Yerushalayim?

1.

Radak: He began to seek Hashem in his eighth year, in which he became king. In his 12th year of kingship 1 he began to purify Yehudah and Yerushalayim. He finished only in his 18th year, after they found the Sefer Torah (Malbim - and made a Bris (verse 33). Here it discusses when he began (his 12th year of kingship); Melachim II, 23:3-15 discusses only his 18th year, when he finished.

Radak's intent here is not so clear, but he says so explicitly in Melachim II, 23:4. (PF)

3)

From which Bamos and idolatry did he purify Yehudah?

1.

'Rashi': It is from what Menasheh made and Amon was Mechadesh it ? Menasheh "built the Bamos that his father destroyed" (33:3).
