What made Chamor turn to his father for help at this stage?

Oznayim la'Torah: Chamor had no problem with stealing a girl from the street and abusing her. Even he however, realized that subsequently marrying her by force would be crossing a red line in the realm of etiquette. So he turned to his father for protection.

Until now, Dinah is called Na'arah. Why did Shechem now call her "Yaldah"?

Moshav Zekenim #1: Yaldah expresses lineage, like Leidah.

Moshav Zekenim #2: Shechem called her a girl in front of his father, a praiseworthy expression to endear her to him. In front of her father and brothers he called her Na'arah, i.e. one who is enticed (to suggest that he did not force her).

Malbim: She is a minor. She is not in her own Reshus, rather, in her father's Reshus; he must agree.

Ha'amek Davar: He wanted his father to think that he desires her only due to her lineage (and not due to her Chochmah), so he will be willing to invest also his mind to [getting Yaakov to agree to give her].
