What do we learn from "Aleihem Hu Yichyeh"?

Malbim: He lives both due to his prior evil, and his current master and Tzedakah. The more evil that he was, this increases his current merits. Total Tzadikim cannot stand in the place of Ba'alei Teshuvah 1 (Yalkut Shimoni Yeshayah 488).

Rambam (Hilchos Teshuvah 7:4): This is because it is harder for a Ba'al Teshuvah to overcome his Yetzer.
