What did Esav have in mind when he used the strange expression, "Yehi Lecha Asher Lach"?
Rashi: He conceded that the Berachos belonged to Yaakov. 1
Malbim: Your gift is not big to me, for I have much. If it is big to you, for it is all you have, why should you become poor? Keep what is yours!
Gur Aryeh: Why doesn't Rashi explain simply, that Esav was refusing the gifts that Yaakov had sent? The extra phrase, "what is yours" (Asher Lach), alludes to the blessings.
Why did Esav need to say, "my brother'" And why did he insert this in the middle of his words?
Ohr ha'Chayim: If you sent the gift for my benefit, I do not need it. If it is to bring my heart close to you - take back the gift, and it will be recognized that I love you due to brotherhood, and not due to the gift!
Ha'amek Davar: A gift is either (a) a slave to his master to appease him, or (b) A rich man to one who needs, especially if he is his brother! I have much, my brother - I do not need, and I am your brother, and not your master! You need the gift as much as me!
