What is the meaning of "Netushim"?
Radak: They were spread out, like "va'Yitosh Al ha'Machaneh" (Bamidbar 11:31).
What is the meaning of "v'Chogegim"?
Radak: They were dancing, Mefazez and Mecharker 1 , like "Yachogu v'Yanu'u ka'Shikor" (Tehilim 107:27).
In Shmuel II, 6:16 Radak gave opinions that Mefazez and Mecharker different kinds of dances,to they are the same (the repetition shows how much he danced), or dances and praises, or he dances and is jovial.
Why does it say that they were "Netushim... Ochelim v'Shosim v'Chogegim "?
Radak: They were spread out, like "va'Yitosh Al ha'Machaneh" (Bamidbar 11:31).
Malbim: These show that they did not think that they need to guard themselves. A troop that fears the enemy stands together, with guards around.
