Malbim: One who feeds Korban Pesach to a Mumar is lashed. Therefore, first they eradicated all kinds of idolatry 1 .

Malbim assumes that if there are not Mizbechos and places to serve idolatry, the idolaters will repent. What forced him to say so? There is a Mitzvah to destroy idolatry! (PF)
