Having described the Mizbe'ach ha'Zahav's location as "Lifnei ha'Paroches", why does the Torah need to add "Lifnei ha'Kapores"?

Rashi: To teach us that the Mizbe'ach ha'Zahav was placed (drawn slightly to the east 1 ) exactly in the middle of the Heichal exactly opposite the Aron, neither to the north of it nor to the south.
