What is "Mefanek mi'No'ar Avdo"?

1.

Rashi: It is the Yetzer ha'Ra.

2.

Malbim: One who pampers his slave not to work in youth, for he is still young and lacks strength.

3.

Malbim (according to the Nimshal): Refer to 29:21:3:3.

2)

What is "Manon"?

1.

Rashi: It is an authority. The same applies to "Lifnei Shemesh Yinon Shmo" (Tehilim 72:17). Every Nin in Tanach is like this, for the son stands in place of his father, to rule over his property.

2.

Malbim: It is Ona'ah (overcharging).

3)

What do we learn from "Mefanek mi'No'ar Avdo v'Achariso Yihyeh Manon"?

1.

Sukah 52b: The Yetzer ha'Ra entices a person in this world, and testifies about him in the world to come.

2.

Malbim: One who pampers his slave not to work in youth, his end will be Manon. The slave will constantly be idle from work; he is not worth the money paid for him. Just the contrary, one must accustom him to work from his youth - then he will be worth the money paid for him.

3.

Malbim (according to the Nimshal): One who pampers the body, which is the slave of the Nefesh, not to work in Torah and Mitzvos from his youth, his hands will slacken also when he is older. One must accustom himself to toil from his youth.
