What is the meaning of "Pe'ulaso Asher Avad Bah Nasati Lo"?
Rashi: The reward for his work based on My command in Tzor; I give to him Egypt.
Malbim: His intent was for the action (to receive glory), and not for the reward. Therefore, I gave to him Egypt. Even though it will be totally destroyed and will cease to be a kingdom (he will not rule over it), the action will be great, to destroy a great kingdom like this.
What do we learn from "Asher Asu Li"?
Rashi: Egypt did evil to Me, via their promise to My nation that they can rely on Egypt, and their help was nothing.
Targum Yonasan: [I gave Egypt to him] due to their liability (Radak ? for being a rickety support for Yisrael).
Malbim: This is why Hashem did not leave Egypt to be a kingdom under Melech Bavel ? they rebelled against Him, and said "Li Ye'ori va'Ani Asisini" (3), and they were a [false] support for Yisrael.
