1

Rashi: Which has no connection with the person's market value.

2)

What does "ha'Zachar" incorporate?

1.

Erchin, 4b: It incorporates Zachar Vadai only - but precludes a Tumtum and an Androginos. 1

1

Erchin (Ibd.): And the Torah writes "ve'Im Nekeivah" - in Pasuk 4, to preclude them even from the lesser Erech of a Nekeivah.

3)

Are a twenty-year old reckoned in the higher age- bracket (between twenty and sixty) or the lower age- bracket - between five and twenty - and the same question applies to a five-year old - in Pasuk 5?

1.

Erchin, 18a: The question does not of course apply to a sixty-year old, who is reckoned in the lower age bracket - since the Torah specifically writes in Pasuk 7 "ve'Im me'Ben Shishim Shanah va'Ma'alah ... ", and we learn a ben Esrim and a ben Chameish from a ben Shishim via a Gezeirah Shavah that they too, are reckoned in the lower age- bracket. 1

1

Erchin, Ibid.: Even though as opposed to a ben Shishim (which is Lehachmir), they are Lehakeil ? See Torah Temimah, note 23.

4)

Why does the Torah repeat the words "Vehayah Erk'cha"?

1.

Erchin, 4b: To teach us tat the current preclusiosn of Tumtum and an Androginos does not apply to Damim (S'tam Nedarim - Torah Temimah), and that they are therefore included in the Din of Damim. 1

See Torah Temimah, citing Erchin, Ibid.
