What is the significance that Yosef was first?

1.

'Rashi': He was Bno ha'Rishon 1 .

1

What does this mean? In the coming verse, 'Rashi' says that Zakur was Asaf's Bechor, like verse 2 strongly implies! Perhaps 'Rashi' means that Asaf's son Yosef headed the first Mishmar; perhaps words of 'Rashi' are missing. (PF)

To whom does "v'Echav u'Vanav Shneim Asar" apply?

1.

'Rashi': This applies to Yosef, and also to Gedalyah. There were 12 from each Mishmar - 288 in all. Here, "Echav" is not brothers, rather, group.
