Kli Yakar (Lani'ado): Yavesh Gil'ad was in Eretz Sichon. The verse hints that they did not bring them to Shilo in order to check [their virginity via the Aron or Tzitz], rather, because it is in Eretz Kena'an. (They checked them through barrels of wine; refer to 21:11:1:1,2.) 1
