What are "Machshevos Charutz"?
Rashi: [Thoughts of] a man who goes in Emes and in Mishpat diligently.
R. Yonah: It is thinking before acting. This is the Ikar of Zerizus! Charitzus and Zerizus do not obligate acting speedily.
Malbim: Charutz is one who is Zariz in his deeds. Even so, a condition of Charitzus is thought and counsel. He does not do something urgently. Rather, first he thinks about all possibilities, and does the best and most likely to gain. Even though this delays the act, he always gains from this, for he chooses the best means to the goal.
Why does it say "Ach l'Mosar"?
Rashi: They come for success and profit.
R. Yonah: Even though he loses some time thinking, he will always gain [via thinking beforehand].
What do we learn from "v'Chol Atz Ach l'Machsor"?
Rashi: It is one who tries to make matters occur prematurely [Malbim - and he acts immediately, without investigation and thought. Even though Zerizus is good in the deed, it is not good in the thought. One must delay first.
R. Yonah: Anything done hastily, a loss will result. Authors of Musar said, the fruits of every haste is regret.
