Seeing as "ve'Ish" precludes a Katan, what will be the Din if a man has relations with a male who is a Katan?

1.

Sanhedrin, 54a: As opposed to "Ish", "es Zachar" incorporates a Katan. 1

1

See Torah Temimah, note 26.

2)

Why does the Torah add the (otherwise superfluous) words "Mishk'vei Ishah"?

1.

Rashi: To teach us that he enters the male 'like an eye-brush into the tube'. 1

2.

Sanhedrin, 54a #1: "Mishk'vei" in the plural teaches us that there are two sources of Mishkav on a woman, and that someone who indulges in unnatural relations with her is therefore Chayav just as he is Chayav by a man 2 .

3.

Sanhedrin, 54a #2: The comparison to Ishah teaches us that one is Chayav for Ha'ara'ah (intimacy without penetration) 3 just as one is Chayav by a woman. 4

1

As one does with a woman.

2

Sanhedrin, 54a: It transpires that, although the Gemara sets out to learn Ish from Ishah, it ends up learning Ishah from Ish as well.

Refer to 20:18:1:1.
