Why did he say "v'Atah"?
Malbim: Initially Shlomo requested only workers to cut cedars in Eretz Yisrael. Chiram answered that he is happy to help more, so now Shlomo requested additional matters ? a craftsman to work with gold?, cedars from Tzor, and Almogim (coral).
What is "Argevan"?
'Rashi': It is Argaman (purple?). Radak ? the Targum of Argaman (Shemos 25:4) is Argevana. It is a red dye 1 .
In the Torah, it refers to dyed wool. Perhaps Radak did not explain so here, for one who can work with wool can work with any color. Shlomo requests a craftsman who can make these dyes. Shlomo omitted linen, the fourth material needed for the Paroches (3:14), because it was not dyed! (PF)
What is "Karmil"?
'Rashi': It must be Tola'as Shani, which is not mentioned here elsewhere 1 . Radak ? also this is a red dye, but it is not the same as Argaman.
The other three materials in the Paroches of the Mishkan (Shemos 26:31) and of Beis Hashem (3:14) were the same (assuming that Argevan is Argaman; refer to 2:6:2:1). Presumably, also the fourth material was the same, i.e. Karmil is Tola'as Shani. (PF)
What is "Lefate'ach Pituchim"?
'Rashi': This is like "Pituchei Chosam" (Shemos 39:30). He can engrave letters and designs in stones.
