In Rus (4:21-22), it says that Bo'az' father was Salmah (with a Hei) or Salman!

1.

Malbim: This is Salma.

2)

Who is Bo'az?

1.

'Rashi': Chazal (Bava Basra 91a) said that it is the Shofet Avtzan 1 . This is astounding! Nachshon died in the second year from Yetzi'as Mitzrayim, and his son Salman was already born, and entered Eretz Yisrael (Seder Olam Rabah 12). His son Bo'az was born when he entered the land. From Yetzi'as Mitzrayim until Yiftach was 300 years 2 . Avtzan was the Shofet after him. Bo'az died right after he married Rus and she became pregnant. Avraham asked, will a man of 100 father a child? How could Bo'az father at the age of 300?! I answer, it says "va'Yiten Hashem Lah Herayon" (it was a miracle), like "va'Yar'ehu Hashem."

1

'Rashi': Avtzan hints that he was Av (father) to all Tzenunim (cold, impassionate people). A young girl lied by him, and he was cold and did not touch her!

2

Really, It was 300 years from when Yisrael conquered Sichon and Og, 39 years after Yetzi'as Mitzrayim (Shofetim 11:26). This is why 'Rashi' says that Bo'az fathered Oved at the age of 300, and not 260. (PF)
