Were there two sins?

Malbim: Yes; he sinned in deed and in intent. In deed, he helped sinners. In intent, he loved those who hate Hashem. It is possible to help without loving, e.g. for the sake of wage or benefit. It is improper to help a Rasha. Love is in the heart; it is improper to love those who hate Hashem - "ha'Lo Mesan'echa Hashem Esna" (Tehilim 139:21). You should have hated Achav, and not helped him!
