What is "Kol ha'Moshel"?

1.

Rashi: It is an expression of Mashal; this is a riddle.

2.

Malbim: One who wants to make a Mashal from the punishment of burning that came to you due to the Zimah of Ervas Ishah u'Bitah.

Why is there no Dagesh in the Hei in "Imah"?

1.

Rashi: It is not in place of Shelah; it is extra. The verse means, like a mother, so is her daughter.

2.

Radak: Even though it is not Mapik Hei, it means her mother. We find like this ? "va'Tachmerah va'Chemar", "l'Min ha'Yom Hivasdah" (Shemos 2:3, 9:18). The pronoun (the suffix Hei) precedes the noun (Bitah), like "va'Tir'ehu Es ha'Yeled" (ibid. 2:6).

How is the daughter like her mother?

1.

Radak: Her actions are like her mother's. According to the Mashal, the mother is Eretz Kena'an, and the daughter is Keneses Yisrael. We find the Keneses called Bas ? Bas Yerushalayim, Bas Edom. You did like Ma'ase Eretz Kena'an, so they say about you that the daughter is like the mother.

2.

Malbim (according to the Nimshal): This refers to the Klal of the nation ? the mother and daughter were Mezanah like one. This is Zimah; they are burned.
