What are "ha'Misgeros ha'Mechonos"?
Rashi: They are ledges on which the Mechonos were made (Melachim I, 7:28).
Radak: They enclosed the lavers.
Malbim: This teaches that he broke both the Misgeros and the Mechonos.
Did he remove only one "Kiyor"?
Radak: "Kiyor" refers to all of them; Shlomo made 10. If he removed only one, it would have said ha'Mechonah (singular).
Why did Achaz do all this?
Radak: It was for disgrace, amidst anger, like he did to the Mizbe'ach. He also extinguished the Neros and closed the doors of Beis Hashem so no one could enter, and made Mizbechos [for idolatry] in every corner in Yerushalayim, like it says in Divrei ha'Yamim II, 28:24. Initially he made his own Mizbe'ach primary. When he angered [Hashem] more, he destroyed the Kelim of Beis Hashem and closed the doors.
Malbim: He changed everything in the Mikdash according to his whim. He did not believe that "ha'Kol bi'Chsav mi'Yad Hashem Alai Hiskil Kol Mal'achos ha'Tavnis" (Divrei ha'Yamim I, 28:19).
Why does it say "Tachteha" (feminine)?
Radak: It uses the feminine for the Yam; elsewhere, it is masculine.
What is "Martzefes Avanim"?
Radak: This is like "Ritzpas Bahat va'Shesh" (Esther 1:6). The floor of the Heichal was not of stone - it was covered with gold flattened onto cedar planks! Rather, he made a stone floor in place of the Mechonos.
