Rashi: There were Yisraelim who used to help the Pelishtim, due to fear of them. (Radak - they were outside the Pelishti camp, to make it easier to slip away and not fight Yisrael. Now that they saw that Yisrael are winning,) they turned to help their brothers. 1

Radak: These Yisraelim had houses [and families - PF] in Eretz Pelishtim. Why were they not concerned [lest the Pelishtim punish them for aiding Yisrael]? They saw the mass confusion amidst the Pelishtim, that they were striking each other unaware. They said, also we can strike them, and they will not know!
