What are the connotations of "Vehikriv oso ... "?
Rashi: It means that the Kohen brings the Asham into the Azarah in order to wave it. 1
See Sifsei Chachamim.
Seeing as "Veheinif osam" implies that the Kohen waves the Asham together with the Log of oil, why does the Torah write "Vehikriv oso le'Asham"?
Menachos, 61a: To teach us that Bedi'eved, if he waved them separately, he is Yotzei. It cannot mean that he must wave them twice 1 since "Tenufah" indicates only one Tenufah, and not two.
See Torah Temimah, note 66.
What are the implications of "Tenufah Lifnei Hashem"?
Zevachim, 112b: It implies that there is no Tenufah by a Bamas (Yachid). 1
See Torah Temimah, note 67.
Why does the Mitaher bring an Asham?
Seforno: Because, whereas a Chatas atones for a Chiyuv Kareis, an Asham atones for a breach of Kedushah, which in this case incorporates Lashon ha'Ra 1 and pride, 2 both of which push away the Shechinah.
Which is generally spoken in secret and is therefore an attempt to hide one's actions from Hashem (Seforno).
The Gemara in Sotah, 5a (based on Tehilim, 101:2) says that Hakadosh-Baruch-Hu says about a haughty person 'he has stolen My robes; I and he cannot live together in the same world!' See also Divrei ha'Yamim 2, 26:16-19.
