What are "Tziyim"?
Rashi citing Targum Yonasan: Martens 1 . Radak - Chazal mentioned them (Bava Basra 22b).
Radak: They are Chayos that dwell in Tziyah (dry) places, therefore they are called Tziyim.
Malbim: The contrasts [Bavel] to a settled place, where people live in houses, animals lie in the field, birds dwell on the trees and children dance in the streets. Corresponding to animals, it says "Tziyim".
Will there be houses?
Radak: "Bateihem" are ruins.
What are "Ochim"?
Rashi: It is a kind of Chayah; I do not know which. Radak - it is called Poron in old French. (A comment in Rashi - it is an expression of thorns - Chochim v'Dardarim.)
Malbim: They are a kind of monkey; they will be in houses, in place of people.
Why does it say "Bnos Ya'anah"?
Radak: They are young Ye'enim (ostriches). The mothers fly away and leave their young, and mourn the lack of food. They normally dwell in the Midbar and in ruins. Malbim - they will be in place of [normal] birds, which dwell in trees.
What are "Se'irim"?
Rashi, Targum Yonasan: They are demons. Radak - this is like "la'Se'irim Asher Hem Zonim Achareihem" (Vayikra 17:7). They are called so, for they appear like goats to one who believes in them. Malbim - in place of children, they will dance.
