Why does it say "Nichna'u? Nichne'u"?

1.

'Rashi': This is like below (14:6) "Darashnu Es Hashem Elokeinu Darashnu 1 ." When there is an interruption, the verse repeats the word. "V'Hayah Ki Selech Imanu v'Hayah ha'Tov?" (Bamidbar 10:32).

Why did He say "Lo Ashchisem"?

1.

Malbim: Hashchasah is destruction if vengeance due to Chemah, i.e. hatred guarded in the heart. Rather, He will afflict them to cure them, amidst love of them. Even though He outwardly shows Af (anger), there is love in His heart and He intends for their good. Therefore, there will be Pleitah (a remnant), and He will not pour His Chemah on them.
