Who are "ha'Maskilim"?
Bava Basra 8b: They are those who judge a case properly. Some include also collectors of Tzedakah.
Rashi: They are those who engage in Torah and Mitzvos.
Malbim: They purified their physicality and removed the cloudiness of the Yetzer ha'Ra and [Yesod] ha'Afar.
Who are "Matzdikei ha'Rabim"?
Bava Basra 8b #1: They are collectors of Tzedakah.
Bava Basra 8b #2: They are teachers of young children.
Which group gets greater reward?
Ibn Ezra: The latter are greater. They themselves forever radiate (they do not merely receive others' light). Malbim ? this is Midah k'Neged Midah. Just like the latter illuminated the eyes of Rabim to teach to them Tzedek (proper actions), they will always illuminate.
