Rashi: It implies that the Cana'anim would all flee, and that Yisrael would therefore conquer the land without raising a sword.

Ramban: It implies that conquering Eretz Yisrael is (not a promise, but) a Mitzvah. 1

Seforno: It implies that the Cana'anim were too afraid of Yisrael to defend themselves.
