What is the meaning of "va'Yavo Shlomo la'Bamah Asher b'Giv'on"?
Radak citing R. Yonah: It is like mi'Bamah (from 1 the Bamah).
Radak: Shlomo went to the Bamah in Giv'on, in front of the Ohel Mo'ed there, and [then] came to Yerushalayim.
Yuma 53a: When Shlomo came from Giv'on to Yerushalayim, he faced the Bamah in Giv'on, like when he was heading to there. Radak - this was for the Bamah's honor. We learn from here that Kohanim, Leviyim or Yisraelim do not turn around and leave (their Avodah, Duchan or Ma'amad); rather, they face to the side and go. The same applies to a Talmid leaving his Rebbi.
Malbim: He came to the Bamah that previously was in Giv'on. Melachim I, 3:4, 15 is difficult. It implies that he went to Giv'on to offer on the copper Mizbe'ach, and when he awoke from the dream, he went to Yerushalayim to offer on a private Bamah, against the Torah's Mitzvah 2 ! Here Ezra explained that then he dissembled the Ohel Mo'ed and brought the Bamah to Yerushalayim, and offered on the copper Mizbe'ach or on a private Bamah, which was permitted after the Mishkan was dissembled.
