THE FIRST PLAGUE

1) Warning at the Nile -

We find that for the Makos of Dam, Arov, and Barad, Moshe was to arise early and confront Pharaoh at the water. Why? (Then, in the Makos of Tzefarde'a, Dever, and Arbeh, Moshe warned Pharaoh at the palace; whereas Kinim, Shechin and Choshech came without warning. Why did the Makos follow this pattern?)

2) Reason -

Why did Hashem begin the plagues with the turning of the water into blood?

EXTENT

3) The fish -

Seeing as the object of the plague was to strike the Egyptians' god, what is the significance of the fact that the fish would die?

EFFECTS

4) Imitation -

How did the necromancers copy the Plague of Blood? How did they get the water to use for their act?

5) Pharaoh's reaction -

Did the Plague of Blood make an impression upon Pharaoh?
