כָּל הַבְּכוֹר אֲשֶׁר יִוָּלֵד בִּבְקָרְךָ וּבְצֹאנְךָ הַזָּכָר תַּקְדִּישׁ לַ-ה' אֱ-לֹקיךָ לֹא תַעֲבֹד בִּבְכֹר שׁוֹרֶךָ וְלֹא תָגֹז בְּכוֹר צֹאנֶךָ: לִפְנֵי ה' אֱ-לֹקיךָ תֹאכֲלֶנּוּ שָׁנָה בְשָׁנָה בַּמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר יִבְחַר ה' אַתָּה וּבֵיתֶךָ: וְכִי יִהְיֶה בוֹ מוּם פִּסֵּחַ אוֹ עִוֵּר כֹּל מוּם רָע לֹא תִזְבָּחֶנּוּ לַ-ה' אֱ-לֹקיךָ: בִּשְׁעָרֶיךָ תֹּאכֲלֶנּוּ הַטָּמֵא וְהַטָּהוֹר יַחְדָּו כַּצְּבִי וְכָאַיָּל: רַק אֶת דָּמוֹ לֹא תֹאכֵל עַל הָאָרֶץ תִּשְׁפְּכֶנּוּ כַּמָּיִם:

All the first-born males that are born of your herd and of your flock, you shall sanctify unto Hashem your G-d; you shall do no work with the first-born of your ox, nor shear the first-born of your flock. You shall eat it before Hashem your G-d year by year in the place which Hashem shall choose, you and your household. And if there be any blemish therein, lameness, blindness, or any ill blemish whatsoever, you shall not sacrifice it unto Hashem your G-d. You shall eat it within your gates; the unclean and the clean may eat it alike, like the deer and the gazelle. But its blood you shall not eat; you shall pour it out upon the ground as water.
