(3) This is the way RASHI explains the opinion of Rebbi who says that the assets "are divided equally." According to TOSFOS and the other Rishonim, though, when Rebbi says that the assets "are divided equally," he is saying that the assets are divided proportionately among the women relative to the lien that each one has on the assets. Hence, when there are 200 Zuz, the first wife (A) collects 33 1/3, the second wife (B) collects 66 2/3, and the third wife (C) collects 100, such that each of them collect 1/3 of their debt. Likewise, when there are 300 Zuz, the first wife (A) collects 50, the second wife (B) collects 100, and the third wife (C) collects 150, such that each of them collect 1/2 of their debt.
