Dear David,
I think you're referring to Daf 64b that says that there were 3 groups of 30. It doesn't mean 90 Kohanim- it refers to the amount of groups and minimum amount in each group of people coming to bring their Korban Pesach. There should be 3 separate groups , one after the other, and each group needs to be at least 30 people.
