DAF DISCUSSIONS - CHULIN 71

J. Wiesen asked:

The Rashi to Chullin 71A, where it talks of the stringencies of both giving birth to both a boy and a girl, says 40 days. But if we are taking the stringency of both, shouldn't that be 80 days? What am I missing?

The Kollel replies:

Eighty days is a leniency, because all of the Dam she sees during that time is

Tahor. It is a stringency to give her fourteen days of Tum'ah with just 26 days of Taharah.
