If parent's are believed in the process of establishing their son who is Karov to gadlus in terms of a Bein Soreh Umoreh
They have the power to be mochel on their Kavod and forgive him and spare him from Skilah or not...
Why would parents not be believed regarding the child's legitimacy.
In addition per Rabbi Yehudah we established earlier that a Father as a single witness is believed to say which son is his bechor (implying that ones that are older are possibly mamzeirim)?

Dear Avraham,
They are two different subjects. Ben Sorer doesn't work unless both parents want, (veSafsu Bo Aviv veImo) Rambam Mamrim 7:10. This is not connected to belief on legitimacy.
R' Yehuda uses Yakir to believe the father even on Mamzer. That was said on 74a and repeated here according to R' Yehuda.
