DAF DISCUSSIONS - KIDUSHIN 3

Yerucham Engel asked:

What is tosfos trying say with the words Ma'hie K"Ve'chomar Goffah

yerucham engel, long beach, USA

The Kollel replies:

The words mean literally "from this self-same Kal v'Chomer." Tosfos is saying that Just as the Gemara wanted to learn that a woman can be divorced with Chalitzah through a Kal v'Chomer from Yevamah, so, too, we should be able to learn that an Amah Ivriyah could be set free with Chalitzah.
