I don't know where you saw 18.
I wrote that a Pundyon buys 12 ka'beitzim of wheat, but half the price of bread is for the firewood and the baker's profit, so a Pundyon buys 6 ka'beitzim of bread. (I thought it is clear
that "loaf" refers to bread, and not wheat.)
