DAF DISCUSSIONS - SHABBOS 118

Daniel Y. Carlebach asked:

According to Rav Chidka that one must eat 4 meals on Shabbos - what are the times times are designated for them?

The Kollel replies:

According to the Rashbam and Me'iri (which we cited in the Insights to 118a), it seems that the four meals of Rebbi Chidka are eaten at night, in the morning, at noon, and in the afternoon. (That is, while we normally eat just one meal on Shabbos morning (and sometimes stretching past noon), Rebbi Chidka ate two meals at that time, one in the morning, and one at noon.)

Be well,

-Mordecai
