The gemara says:מאי בנאין אמר רבי יוחנן אלו תלמידי חכמים שעוסקין בבנינו של עולם כל ימיהן ואמר רבי יוחנן איזהו תלמיד חכם שמחזירין לו אבידה בטביעות העין זה המקפיד על חלוקו להופכו ואמר רבי יוחנן איזהו תלמיד חכם שממנין אותו פרנס על הציבור זה ששואלין אותו דבר הלכה בכל מקום ואומר ואפילו במסכת כלה
My question is: the gemara just finished saying that these בנאין aren't makpid on a stain which can be seen from one side, but how could that be if they aren't allowed to go out with any stain whatsoever?!

Read over the Gemara again, and you will see that Bena'im are (yes) Makpid on a one-sided stain. If you understand the Gemara differently, please let us know how you understand it.
