If I understand you correctly, you are referring to vows that are between couples upon their marriage. If these were made in a way that makes them valid Nedarim, using the right Lashon and complying with all other Halachos regarding a valid Neder, I do not see why these vows do not need Hafarah or Hatarah. In the case of a husband, he would need a Chacham who can be Matir his Neder.
