If you are talking about the very last story mentioned in Avodah Zarah regarding Bati bar Tuvi, there is no question of Maris Ayin there at all. Tosfos (DH "Idkar") says that Bati bar Tuvi didn't do anything wrong by accepting the "guests" sent to him by the king, as an Eved Kenani is permitted to have relations with someone who is not Jewish.
