The gemara asks two questions in the final gemara on the mishna relating to the soldiers in King David's army but only appears to answer one of them. The gemara responds to the question regarding the 400 soldiers in King David's army by stating that they never converted and were just used to instill fear in the enemy. (According to the Ben Yehoyoda on Sanhedrin
21a) However, the gemara does not appear to answer the question regarding
Iti Hagiti's function in King David's army. Do you have any thoughts on
this? I have looked around and nobody seems to touch on it.
I do not see why the Gemara's answer cannot apply to Iti ha'Giti as well. As long as he was not a
combatant, it is sufficient.
