Rebbi Yehudah on Pesachim 67a says "v'Lo Yetam'u Es Machaneihem" Litein Machaneh La'Zeh u'Machaneh La'Zeh. How does Rebbi Yehudah know which is more Chamur, the Zav or the Tamei Meis, to determine which is sent out further? As the Gemara notes within Rebbi Shimon, both Zav and Tamei Meis have their own Chumros.

The Rambam Hilchot Biyat Hamikdash 3:3 writes that Zav is more chamur than Tamei Meis because a Zav is metamei anything he sits or lies upon, even if those items are under a stone. The latter does not apply to meis.
