Rebbi Yehudah considered Rebbi Meir's Talmidim trouble-makers whose aim was to disrupt his Shi'ur. He therefore instructed his Talmidim not to allow them in - in order to avoid Bitul Torah and to maintain Kavod ha'Torah.
That is not Lashon ha'Ra.
