Why is pig breeding ossur, the gemoro in 38b says that you can fatten beheymo temeoh to sell to goyim or feed your dogs?

Dear Avrumi,
There is a special Isur (and curse) on raising pigs for any reason, based on a Gezeirah made after a pig was sent to be the Korban Tamid. See Bava Kama 82b, and see the Halachah in Shulchan Aruch, Choshen Mishpat 409:2.
Concerning other Treif animals, it is forbidden to make steady business from their flesh for food. See Tosfos to Bava Kama 82b (DH Lo) and brought as the Halachah in Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh De'ah 117.
