DAF DISCUSSIONS - YOMA 43

hg schild asked:

Saw about Kohen doing Parah Adumah. Thought I heard somewhere (maybe it was cited as Mikdash David but I do not have access if that is the sefer) that how can a Kohen wearing shatnes wear his clothes outside the Mikdash to schecht the Parah?? Is this discussed and if it the aforementioned can you pdf me the page please?

The Kollel replies:

The Mikdash David (Kodshim 36:3 DH v'Hinei) assumes that since the Bigdei Kehunah are a necessity for the Parah (see Mishnah Parah 4:1) there is no problem for a Kohen to wear them even outside the Mikdash. It is as if the Torah specifically allowed the Kohen to wear Kela'im outside the Mikdash under these circumstances.

However, he asks that Tosfos in Menachos 41a DH Techeiles says we do not find any Heter to wear Bigdei Kehunah of Kela'im outside of the Mikdash. He answers that Tosfos holds that the Begadim worn for the Parah were the Bigdei Kohen Gadol which did not contain Kela'im (see Mishneh l'Melech Parah 1:12).
