If a person is a shomer sachar on a child who is being watched for the Para Aduma, or for the Para Aduma itself, or for zeraim that are being watched for the Omer, what is his "payment" if he is liable?
Gershon
The Gemara in Bava Metzia 58a says that actually a Shomer is not Chayav in these cases. The Gemara there concludes that the Beraisa cited in our Gemara is discussing a situation where a separate Kinyan was made to obligate the Shomer to pay even though he normally is exempt. If so, his payment will be whatever they set it as in the terms of the Kinyan.
