When the gemara says Ey Baey Achil, as tosfos says we know that there is a clear contradiction that ,many rishonim discuss. acc. to the ran on this point,(he has 2 answers), how is this contradiction answered?

The Ran says as follows: When the Gemara says that except for the first day of Yom Tov one does not have to eat if he does not want to, that means that he does not have to eat in a Sukah, but he is Chayav to eat bread (outside of the Sukah) because of the Yom Tov. How, though, is it permissible to eat bread outside of a Sukah during Sukos? The Ran answers:
1. It is permitted to eat a K'zayis outside of a Sukah (but on the first day of Yom Tov, even a K'zayis must be eaten inside a Sukah).
2. It is permitted to eat bread outside of a Sukah while it is raining, while on the first day of Yom Tov one must refrain from eating outside of the Sukah and eat only in a Sukah (when the rain stops).
