What is the difference between produce being in status of ci yutan or not? Can we eat/sell produce that is not susceptible to tumah? Why is the owner "sameach" that his produce is in status of "ci yutan"?
Howard Davis, Los Angeles, California USA
It is not that the owner is happy that his produce is in the status of "Ki Yutan," but rather that he is happy that the liquid fell on it for one reason or another (i.e. wash away dirt, he wanted it be moist, etc.). This happiness makes the liquid that falls on it fit the Pasuk of "Ki Yutan."
All the best,
