DAF DISCUSSIONS - MEGILAH 17

Avraham Sacks asks:

The Gemarra says that the war in the seventh year will be the beginning of the geulah. How is the war the beginning of the geulah?

Avraham Sacks, Ramat Beit Shemesh

The Kollel replies:

War changes the balance of power, as is evident regarding any great war. Historians certainly have a great deal to say about the shift of power after World War I, World War II, and even smaller wars. Certainly, "The War to End All Wars" will create a major shift that will bring the Geulah, which is why it is called the beginning of the geulah.

All the best,

Yaakov Montrose
