The Gemoro makes a distinction between carrying (nosei) mei chatos and sprinkling (masei) mei chatos. My question is: isn't every sprinkling also carrying (and would become tomei) ?
We see from the Rishonim in the Sugya that even though one who touches or carries Mei Chatas becomes Tamei, nevertheless one who sprinkles the Mei Chatas for the purpose of being Metaher someone who is Tamei, does not become Tamei. This is because the Torah specifically states that when the Mei Chatas is used in the process of being Metaher someone who is Tamei, it does not make the one handling it Tamei (TOSFOS YESHANIM DH Rashi Gores; TOSFOS DH Mai; RAMBAM, Hilchos Parah Adumah 15:1).
