The pasuk says that as a reward for saving the babies Hash-m made for the midwives "batim".
The Torah in reffering to the midwives uses the word lahem instead of the word lahen. Is there any significance in that?

The Chizkuni says that this is not an uncommon phenomenon (see also Shemos 2:17 "va'Yegarshum"). Rabeinu Bachye says that it is possible that the Torah specifically used the male "Lahem" to give them the added importance which is ascribed to a male (who is commanded in more Mitzvos than a woman), due to the fact that they were involved in saving the male babies of Klal Yisrael.
All the best,
